The last time I wrote about Nice, France, I took you through an entire day with sights and sounds and places to eat. This time, I’m going to share with you an updated list of delicious places to eat in Nice!

Marcus and I were lucky enough to go back to the French Riviera again this year, and attend the Monaco Grand Prix, which landed on my birthday!

We discovered some of our favorite places last time, and revisited them! On this trip, we locked in some additional favorites.

Breakfast / Brunch

Copenhagen Coffee Lab

Neighborhood: Jean-Medecin

I was thrilled to find a Copenhagen-inspired breakfast in Nice! I visited Copenhagen about a year ago, and very much enjoyed their extensive breakfast spreads every morning.

At Copenhagen Coffee Lab, I ordered the Breakfast Plate. It included 2 types of bread, butter, jam, gouda cheese, ham, yogurt with rye crumble and fruit, 1 soft boiled egg, orange juice or apple juice, and a beautiful pastry. Quite the buffet! It was the absolute perfect plate to share with my husband. I’m a sucker for Danish brown bread; and he enjoyed the pastry and the OJ. I ordered a regular latte as well. And I have to say, it was probably the best latte I had the entire week in Nice.

I cannot recommend this place enough. It was quick and easy to order at the bar, and they served us the wonderful patter and drinks. The cafe has plenty of seats, and is a pleasant place to sit and enjoy someone else's company, or get some work done.

They have locations throughout France, Denmark, Germany, and Portugal.

Garden Cafe

Neighborhood: Gambetta

Garden Cafe is a bright and airy cafe that serves brunch all day long. They have a ton of options to choose from: omelets, salads, bagels, burgers, avocado toast and more. Their portions are large, and perfect to set the tone for the entire day. I love being transported back to Italy, so I ordered a Macchiato with my avocado toast. It did not disappoint! This brunch spot is a wonderful choice if you like to linger and take the morning slow.

Quick Breakfast / Snacks / Smoothies

Co-T-Cafe

Neighborhood: Jean-Medecin

Co-T-Cafe is a great grab-n-go breakfast spot. I had a yogurt parfait, and Marcus had a smoothie. We went after a morning run on the water, and it was an easy choice for a pick-me-up.

They also have plenty of seats outside if you do choose to dine in.

Lunch / Dinner / Appetizers

Pizza Cresi

Neighborhood: Jean-Medecin

The absolute BEST Calamari in existence is served at Pizza Cresci. I order the small appetizer portion as my entire meal - it’s that delicious. It’s perfectly breaded and fried, so as not to be too thick or greasy at all. I pair it with a salad, and it proves to be a perfect little meal. What sets the entire thing off, is enjoying it all with an Aperol Spritz! Duh.

My husband loves the Marinara Pizza there. It comes out as big as your torso! I’m sure any of their pizzas are delicious, although we have yet to try them.

Kalos

Neighborhood: Port Lympia

We are huge fans of Mediterranean food. We can never ever get enough. Marcus stumbled across a Greek restaurant near Port Lympia, and we gave it a go. It was absolutely delicious! A very good value for what the meal included.

I ordered the Chicken Souvlaki Plate garnished with hummus, eggplant caviar, Greek salad and pita bread. Marcus got a Chicken Souvlaki Pita with fries. Highly recommend Kalos for lunch if you’re looking for something other than pizza and pasta.

Piperno

Neighborhood: Old Nice - Saleya

Alright, but who doesn’t want to continue a pizza tour in Nice when it’s sooo close to Italy?!

Marcus discovered this delightful little pizza spot on the beautiful street of Saleya. What I’m about to tell you, might change your life.

I had one of the BEST pizzas of my entire life at Piperno!

Order the Hot Vesuvio: Tomato sauce, mozzarella, hot italian sausage, ‘Nduja (life changing spicy italian sausage), ricotta, red onion, basil and EVOO. It is absolutely UNREAL. I will forever dream about this pizza.

Drinks

For drinks, we revisited Mamma Mia Salaya and Waka Bar - we love those spots!

Wayne’s Bar

Neighborhood: Old Nice - Vieux Nice

I firmly believe that if you find a pub or an Irish Bar anywhere in the world, you should probably go inside. You will find the nicest, most friendly people inside! A few months ago, on our Honeymoon in Florence, I overheard an Australian mate sitting outside an Irish Pub say that he always goes to the Irish bars no matter where he’s traveling in the world. Because he always makes the best friends in them! I agree. This might be a good travel tip, especially if you travel solo.

Wayne’s Bar is a great pub to grab a Guinness or another Irish beer, or most anything you can think of. The great thing about this place is that if you do go during Monaco Grand Prix weekend, they will be showing F1 TV throughout the weekend.

Les Distilleries Idéales is another easy spot to enjoy a drink in a picturesque alleyway. Great for people watching! They have numerous beers on tap if you’re interested in trying different brews.

The one and only place you need to go for Gelato is Fenocchio. Go to the location in Place Rosetti.

They have probably at LEAST 60 flavors to choose from.

My absolute favorite flavors are:

Chocolate Sorbet
Amarena (Cherry)
Stracciatella

Ask for whipped cream on top (about 1 euro extra)!

I finally branched out and tried four other flavors this year. This is doable, especially if you get gelato twice a day…haha!

Confiture De Lait: An absolutely delicious option. Vanilla base, with swirled dulce de leche and plenty of peanuts added into it.
Mint Sorbet: It was pretty good, even though I’m not a sorbet girl. It was kind of like Stracciatella, with an extra minty flavor. It still was just not as creamy as I like, so stick with the regular gelato if you’re not a fan of the consistency of sorbet.
Pistachio: I’ve had better pistachio. Or perhaps I believe I have because I had Salted Pistachio in Italy recently, and it was INSANE! I just didn’t think Fenocchio’s Pistachio was Pistachio enough…if that makes sense!
M&M’s: This flavor is glorified vanilla with tons of M&M’s mixed in. It wasn’t impressive enough for me, but of course Marcus loved it. He loves all the Cookies, or Cookies N’ Cream sorts of flavors.

We love it.

Here are some tips for when you venture to get Fenocchio gelato:

When you get in line, don’t be afraid!
Ask for a taste of anything - They will give it to you.
Ask for an explanation of what a flavor might be. They are good about translating what the French-named flavor is.
Hop to the front of the line! There will be plenty of people overwhelmed with all the flavor options, and if you know what you want, just jump to the front to order.
