Sprints & Scrunchies
I haven’t been a huge fan of running since college. In high school, I killed the treadmill on a pretty consistent basis. But these days, I get waaay too bored if I run for 20 minutes straight. Anyone else feel that?!
The boredom can’t even be remedied with a podcast, because I need something like music to pump me up!
I’ve found that sprints are the perfect remedy. And there are so many reasons why!!
Here are just a few:
Sheds fat
Builds muscle and endurance
Reduces stress
Saves time
For all these reasons, I have added sprinting into my workout routine.
Before I go, this is what I like to check off the list:
Find a beautiful location to run.
Download interval timer and set to: 90 seconds walking, 60 seconds running. (If you’re just starting out, you may want to start with 90 seconds walking, 30 seconds running!)
Just do it! My workout ended up being about 35 minutes - 15 minutes of that was running. How exciting!
I felt so accomplished! Be sure to stretch afterwards.
Also, can we all agree to bring scrunchies back?! I got this 24 piece set (yes 24 scrunchies!!!!) on Amazon for $7.99. It’s almost like I choose a new color every time I go to the gym or out for a run. Talk about an automatic incentive to workout!
