My First Country Concert
You heard that right! My first country concert!
I have gone all of my life, besides the past 5 months, avoiding country music. It has just never been my thing. However, it has always followed me. This year I decided I would open my mind to things that I have put little to no consideration towards.
I mean overall, no pun intended, it was a pretty good time.
I have to give it to Luke Bryan, "What Makes You Country", was one of the first songs that spoke to me in my pursuit of Country. We had a winner. "Be proud of what makes you country!"
What makes you country?
I remember running through the thick of my grandparents meadow // the rodeo down the street (yeah, down the street) // watching my golden retriever catch a road runner (he was quick!) // jumping in the lake at family camp // fishing with the boys, and early morning pancake breakfasts in the mountains - See, Country really spoke to me. I'm writing my own lyrics now!
Seriously though. Those are moments I cherish. Country music more than any other genre invokes those memories and supports nostalgia well.
No better moment to debut my overalls than at the Luke Bryan and Sam Hunt concert. There's just something to be said about how overalls makes you feel. For me, it brings up wonderful memories of my childhood.
Bring me back to the days of careless adventures running around in sneakers and overalls "kickin' up the dust" Tom Sawyer style!!
