The Wave of Life
One thing that I have been focusing on in my life right now is to be even keel. To ride the wave of life slowly and steadily, taking every wave as it comes. Not riding too high, or too low. Not holding on too tight...to any one thing.
The other day, life was going really well. Everything seemed in its place. I could just breathe and say, “I’m enjoying this present lull!”. But then, another swell came and crashed down! It always seems that just when you’re happy - you wipeout. You want so badly to enjoy those good moments, but then something else “goes wrong”.
We think that we have such a tight grip on the leash. But you can only control so much in life. If you allow the next negative thing to catch you, it will. If you let it. Like a roaring rip current.
What we must accept is that life will always be both good and bad. The unexpected should be expected. Life can send storms. Delightful and destructive parts cruising along in the same water. Great things happening along horrible things.
You can wipeout. But, the most important thing is that you don’t bail.
