Encounters
Encounter: To come upon or experience, especially unexpectedly.
I recently experienced an unexpected encounter.
I was pleasantly surprised and refreshed that there was this energetic pull of connection that resonated with my heart. I stayed present and just took it all in. And then it had to end. I was disappointed when it did, but once I came through it, I finally understood that I needed that encounter to recalibrate.
Encounters help reorganize your brain and redirect your life path. They apply something new to your life and then you are free to move forward with a new narrative. They are a vessel to push you in the direction you are meant to go.
When we don’t understand something, our mind searches to organize our thoughts and make sense of things. But like I said in my last blog post, sometimes we don’t get an answer.
So maybe that person came into my life for a moment just to remind me who I am.
Or maybe the encounter wasn’t even for me. Maybe it was for them. For them to finally make one of the most important decisions of their life. To move forward with something they became stagnant in, or, to change course.
Maybe these moments are worth it simply for the feeling you are left with.
A feeling can do enough to help your soul and propel you forward.
Though not lasting, the sudden delight and change of perspective was what was needed. It left me with hope to go another week, month, year – that somehow, it’s all going to be ok. And maybe that hope inspires a clear pivot.
Just as this blog post feels unfinished, some encounters can leave you feeling the same way. You want to tie up the loose ends to feel more complete, but you can’t. So you have to decide what to do with those ends. You can choose to wallow in disappointment, or choose to weave another beginning. Because each new day we can choose to: begin again.
